Punit Sarna, MD, FACC is a general cardiologist, practicing at El Camino Hospital since 2018. He received his medical degree from the University of Southern California and completed his cardiology fellowship at East Carolina University. He holds additional fellowship training in cardiac imaging and heart failure management from UC San Francisco.
He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine, Echocardiography, Nuclear imaging and Vascular imaging. Among the wide range of cardiology interests, the connection between diet, nutrition and cardiovascular well being is a primary interest. Whether he is lecturing at cardiac rehab or speaking individually with a patient, he focuses on lifestyle as a primary factor in patients' wellness, prevention and recovery. The benefits of a plant based diet and mindfulness are integral to each of his patient encounters. Clinical interests include, hypertension, lipid management, heart failure and preventative cardiology.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and young children exploring Northern California.
